Twitter has also become famous social media platform these days. My both airline companies – Alaska and JetBlue Airlines are also have active accounts on twitter. Alaska Airlines had joined the twitter in February 2008 whereas, JetBlue Airlines joined in May 2007. They post regularly on their twitter accounts. Alaska posts everyday whereas twitter post after 3 – 4 days.
Alaska tweets about their upcoming events they are planning, the contests they are hosting for their customers, etc. They also tweet about the experience of their customers and the successes of their employees and what they are doing to give services to their customers, so that they can build best customer relationship.
JetBlue Airlines tweet about the sales, discounts and offers they are giving to their customers on the air tickets to different places. They tweet about their services that they offer during their flights and many more things.
The keywords that these airlines use in their tweets are – perfect family vacation, love our customers, get above the clouds, best vacation look, iFlyAlaska, win first class tickets, ready to rock, etc.
The most recent successful tweet by Alaska Airlines was about an event in which they are helping others to learn to fly without fear which means that they are telling about the security while flying with the Alaska Airlines. This tweet is successful as it has 152 likes by the people and 16 retweets.
JetBlue airline’s most successful tweet was the tweet in which they thanked their customers and crew members for accompanying them in their 18 years journey and bringing them up to that point of success. This tweet had a large number of likes and the number was 443. Not only this, it was retweeted 105 times and has 57 comments. Through this post they tried to build strong relationship with their customers as well as their crew members. 


Overall, Alaska airlines has 205K tweets, 286K followers and 13.8K likes on their twitter account. On the other hand, JetBlue Airlines has 500K tweets, 2.13M followers and 51.9K likes on their twitter account.
